Child in critical condition following collision in Hayes

A five-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital following a collision in Hayes yesterday afternoon, February 4th. The Metropolitan Police were called to Avondale Drive in Hayes to reports of a collision at 3:28pm on Friday. According to the London Ambulance Service (LAS), the child, who was reported to have suffered serious head injuries, was treated at the scene after being in a collision with a car. He was then taken to a West London-based major trauma centre, where he remains in a critical condition.

The LAS said in a statement: "We were called at 3:28pm today (February 4) to reports of a road traffic collision on Avondale Drive in Hayes.”

They added: "We sent an ambulance crew, an emergency responder crew, an incident response officer and a medic in a car. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance. “We treated a child for a head injury and took him to a major trauma centre."

The Met Police said that an investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
