Man dies after being found with stab injury in The Greenway

A MAN has died after he was found with stab wounds in Uxbridge.

Police were called at 19:07pm on Wednesday, July 6 in response to reports of a stabbing at the crossroads of Cowley Road and The Greenway in Uxbridge.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and the London Air Ambulance. A 57-year-old man, named as Khurram Butt, was found with stab wounds, police have said.

He passed away at the scene despite the efforts of the emergency services and his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers according to the police.

Police say a 49-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of murder and currently remains in custody.

With several crime scenes in place, detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command have been informed and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin, said: "We are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area of Cowley Road, near to the junction with Frayslea just after 7pm on 6 July, who may have seen anything that may help with our investigation.

"It is a busy road and a number of people would have been on foot in the area or in vehicles. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have a dashcam footage."
