Firefighters tackle blaze at metal workshop in Yiewsley

Firefighters successfully extinguished a fire which broke out at a metal workshop in Yiewsley, Hillingdon. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from London Fire Brigade were called to the incident, which took place above on Horton Close in West Drayton, at 10:31pm on March 29. According to the Brigade, the fire was under control by 11:51pm. Part of the ground floor was damaged by blaze and there were no reports of any injuries.

The fire was discovered by an employee in a neighbouring commercial unit when they could smell smoke and went outside to investigate. They then saw smoke coming from the side windows and called 999.

Fire crews from Hayes, Hillingdon, Heathrow and Feltham fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
