He said: "I have seen some brilliant businesses and some very inspiring projects. It's very, very good to see people coming together and really starting to get the economy moving again after the pandemic."
More than 50 businesses have exhibited at the event, held at the university's Hamilton Centre, and organisers predicted there would be more than 1,500 people attending.
Mr Johnson also met with Hillingdon Herald editor Rachel Sharp and staff. The Prime Minister, who writes a monthly column for the paper, told the reporters: "I am one of your journalists."
Kim McGearty, Expo Director, said of the event organised by Hillingdon Chamber of Commerce: "It's been amazing - such a great turn-out and so lovely to have everybody back in a room together. There are lots of networking going on and we are having really good feedback.
"It's the biggest free network event in the country and also people are here to promote their businesses so we have members of the public to make connections and find out what services people are offering as this is collaborative."
